YMCA WORLD CHALLENGE 2017

World Challenge is a global YMCA event, which brings communities together across the globe to Empower Young People. This year it’s all about bringing communities together through basketball.
Dhaka YMCA feels the importance of young people’s needs and their role in society; demonstrate the mobilization of the YMCA as a social movement. In response to the challenge, the Dhaka YMCA conducted a youth event by shoot Basketball on 3rd June 2017 at Dhaka YMCA Campus. Board Member & Ex. President Mr. William Proloy Samadder and Board Member Mr. Joseph D. Sarker were present as guest to signify this event. More than hundred Members, Youth and student of Dhaka YMCA School, office staff has participated in this program.
The Youth Committee Chairman Mr. Nicholas Adhikary briefly described about Dhaka YMCA activities and global YMCA movement.
Basketball is special to the YMCA and in fact, in 1891 a YMCA employee James Naismith invented the game to empower a group of disengaged students.
