Solidarity to  low-income workers: Iftar Mahfil organized by Dhaka YMCA
Over 400 people gathered in the Iftar Mahfil organized by Dhaka YMCA to break the Ramadan together on 1st June 2019. This is a significant initiative by Christian community in Dhaka city to express solidarity to Muslim Neighbors of low-income workers like Dhaka North City Corporation’s cleaners, rickshaw pullers and daily laborers. Mr. M Saifullah Saiful, Office Secretary- Dhaka Metropolitan Awami League (North) was present as the chief guest at the program and President of Dhaka YMCA Mr. William Proloy Samadder presided over the program. This is a rare example of interreligious harmony in the country.

Ramadan, the ninth month of the Islamic calendar, is not only a time for fasting but also for generosity and charity. All guests have expressed that it will play a positive role in promoting non-communal spirit and creating a peaceful and harmonious society through this arrangement.
